WIPS and sweet things

I started a pair for Sophia with Opal Tutti Frutti...here's the toe. Magic Loop.

Here is a sample bib for the knitting ministry - I have been doing some test knitting for it and came up with this simple bib. I'll probably try a small afghan as well. This is with Knit Picks CotLin and it is so nice once knitted up.

There's only one word to describe this: Awwww.

A baby set and Student FO's and a WIP

A baby bib for my friend Jackies. Note the last minute red marker embellishment gracefully added by my son. (***addendum***the marker stain came out! Yay! Washable markers rock!)
The coloring on the picture isn't so great, but it's a matching burp cloth from Mason Dixon Knitting. I love how that looks.
Here's the set.
A finished toe-up sock made by my student Jan, modeled by Jan. Great Job!!
Jan went sock crazy and made a LOT of socks. Here's another one.
My friend's hubby went to Peru on a mission trip and brought me 10 skeins of Alpaca Soft, bought right from a lady who was selling it at market. After months, I finally decided to make a shrug with it. The pattern is Mell by Berrocco. You can see it on the pic under the WIP. I just love the alpace yarn. It makes me feel all fuzzy and warm. : )

A Christmas hat in January

Danny Jr modeling Uncle Javi's ribbed hat.

The countertop modeling it!

The following is a sock I made using the magic loop method (for the first time!). It is made from some bare knit picks worsted wt that I dyed with Kool-Aid. I made it with Sophia in mind, but it was way too tight for her. Then Danny Jr tried it on and it fit and he loved the way it felt, so I decided to make a match for it and dye the pair in some Lemon Lime Kool-Aid. I am thinking it may end up camo-ish. If anyone out there has a suggestion of a color to use other than green, please leave a comment.

I love the colors already, they remind me of sherbert. I'll post a pic of the finished re-dyed product when it's ready.

Icky Sicky

My two youngest are battling the flu! Ick! I am hoping that the rest of us don't get it! I sent a note to my oldest's teacher and let her know that if Oliv starts looking puny, to send her packin'.

So there is a perk to this....the weather is terrible - cold and rainy - so being cooped up isn't such a big deal. Read: knitting weather!

There is also a downside besides my babies being sick - Oliv plays Upwards basketball and tomorrow is her first game, which happens to be against her BFF! HA! Unfortunatley I won't be able to make it!
