A bittersweet thing happened last night. At the beginning of my third session of knitting class, one student decided to break free and move on, on her own. The sad thing is that we will miss her, she adds a lot of *spice* to the group, and is very fun to have around. The great thing is that she has such a good understanding of knitting that she is pushing herself to learn more and more, and isn't having trouble learning from videos. So I will miss her, but I am very proud of her.
As for the rest of the class, I am incredibly proud of them! It doesn't matter how awkward they feel, or how new the task is that they are learning, they pay attention, and they push through, they are doing awesome! Just a couple of months ago, they never held a knitting needle, and now they have completed a knitted, felted bag (with their own design elements to it), a cabled ribbed scarf, and now they are mastering working on dpn's to make a hat.
After the new year starts, we will be doing socks on two circs, from the toe up! Yippee!!!!!
