Oo oo ah ah

Here is my first Monkey sock - I knit it with Knit Picks Imagination sock yarn in Frog Prince. I cast on last Sunday evening and finished it this Sunday. It knit up surprisingly fast! I love the sock, love the pattern, and hoping to NOT suffer 2nd sock syndrome. Hoping for a little more cool weather so I can wear them. : )

Wow! That's just lovely! I've never knit that pattern, but have wanted to. It looks wonderful in that yarn. BTW they now say that the imagination yarn felts if machine washed but I knit my son a pair of socks for Christmas with it. I forgot to let my husband know that they are handwash only socks and so they got thrown in the machine. They are fine. They've been washed by machine (cold water-no dryer) 6-8 times now and no felting.

Everyone in my family only wants to wear handknit socks. So I'm constantly trying to knit enough. So for the sake of speed I usually just go for the very simple stockinette or ribbing types. But I do so love pretty socks!

Thank you! And they are the fastest socks I have ever knit. The pattern is so easy - it's an 11 row repeat, but you're only doing k2tog, ssk, and yo one 4 of those rounds. I dare you to try! You won't regret it!

I had a tangled strand of the yarn make its way into my wash and it did felt. I wonder why.

Ok, you talked me into it! I'll knit a pair. They are next up after I finish the pair of socks I'm making for afghans for afghans.

I know lots of folks have had problems with that yarn felting. I guess it's the alpaca in it. But for some reason my son's socks have been just fine.
